1/2 c. golden raisins
1 c. water
1 c. butter flavored shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Cook raisins and water until water is gone. Cool. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients and vanilla, then raisins. Shape into balls. Roll in sugar and press down. Put on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes. Yields 4 dozen.
