1/4 c. cocoa
2 1/2 c. water
2/3 c. margarine
2 c. raisins
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Mix sugar and cocoa, add water, margarine, raisins and spices. Boil for 4 minutes, then cool. Sift flour, baking powder and soda. Add to cooled raisin mixture; blend well. Add walnuts. Pour in 13x9x2-inch pan and bake for 35 minutes at 350. I use black walnuts for this cake.
