Casserole: Taco Bake

2 lbs. ground beef
1 1/2 c. chopped onions
1 (15-oz.) jar tomato sauce
1 (15-oz.) can red kidney beans, drained
2 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 (5-oz.) pkg. taco shells (12)
1 c. grated Jack cheese
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Cook meat an onion. Stir in tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili powder, salt and pepper. Break each taco shell in half at fold. Arrange on the bottom and sides of a 13x9x2-inch casserole. Spoon meat mixture over taco shells. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350. Serves 6 to 8.
