1 lb. split green peas
6 cups water
1 lb. ham or turkey
2 tsp. sweet basil
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. chicken bouillon
1 small carrot peeled & diced
1 small potato peeled & diced
In large soup pot cook ham, onion, carrots, sweet basil and bouillon for 1/2 hour. Add rest of ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. Remove and cut up ham or turkey if not already done. Then return to soup and add water if needed.
