Cake: Oatmeal Cake

1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
3/4 c. Wesson or Mazola oil
2 unbeaten eggs
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix boiling water and oatmeal together.  Set aside to cool.  Cream together sugars, oil and eggs.  Add dry ingredients and cooled oatmeal and cream together.  Put in 9x13-inch pan.  Bake in 350 oven for 35 minutes.

Icing:
1 c. brown sugar
8 T. butter
6 T. Milnot or Carnation
4 oz. coconut
1/2 c. nutmeats

Melt butter and warm ingredients together.  Spread on baked cake and broil for about 5 minutes.
