1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond
1 c. sugar
1 c. cake flour
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and salt together until foamy. Add granulated sugar, gradually beating until meringue holds stiff peaks. Add flavorings. Combine flour and confectioners' sugar. Add to egg white mixture using a wire whisk. Bake in unoiled tube pan at 350 for 50 minutes. Be sure to not open the oven while baking.
